Blumen in Weimar

Ich bin gerade zu Besuch bei Familie und Freunden in Deutschland und habe viele Gelegenheiten, meinen Fotoapparat zu benutzen. Auf einem Tagesausflug nach Weimar fiel mir der schöne englische Garten vor dem Hauptbahnhof auf. Mir hat es richtig Spaß gemacht, ein paar Nahaufnamen von Blumen zu machen. Ich habe mich entschlossen, die Blende ganz weit offen zu lassen (das heisst, ich habe eine kleine Blendezahl gewählt), damit der Hintergrund und Teile des Hauptmotivs weich und ruhig wirken.

I'm currently visiting family and friends in Germany and have had many opportunities to put my camera to use. On a day trip to Weimar, I noticed the beautiful English garden in front of the train station. It was fun to shoot a couple of macro images of flowers. I decided to leave the aperture wide open (that is, I chose a small aperture number) so that the parts of the main subject as well as the background appear smooth and quiet.

 

Sommersalat

Das Wetter ist gerade sehr angenehm, nicht zu kühl und nicht zu heiß. Als ich letzte Woche nach der Arbeit mit dem Bus nach Hause fuhr, dachte ich mir, daß ein leichter Couscous-Salat mit Gurken, Feta und Koriander erfrischend wäre. Nachdem ich das U.S-amerikanische Standardwerk Joy of Cooking durchgeblättert habe, fügte ich eine herzhafte Dosis Olivenöl und Zitronensaft hinzu. Delicious!

The weather is very pleasant right now, not too cold and too hot. As I was riding the bus home after work last week, it occurred tome that a light couscous salad with cucumber, feta cheese and cilantro would be refreshing. After consulting Joy of Cooking , I added a healthy dose of olive oil and lemon juice. Delicious!
